Biography – Dan Patterson

Dan Patterson retired a few years back as a Manufacturing Engineer for Honeywell Aerospace International in Tempe Arizona where he repaired and tested actuators and starters  as well as created repairs for aircraft parts and assemblies.  Before working at Honeywell Dan worked 25 years in operations management for Salt River Project at the coal fired Coronado Generating Station in St Johns Arizona where he was part of the original start up crew.  This all followed his time in the United States Air Force where he ran diesel generators on a remote site and operated and maintained aircraft arresting barriers.

Dan has earned an Associate’s Degree in Power Plant Operations from Navajo Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Ottawa University in 1990, and a Master’s Degree in Technical Management from Embry Riddle where he graduated summa cum laude in 2000.

He has volunteered his time and expertise on the St Johns Airport committee, as Fire Chief of the Concho Volunteer Fire Department in Concho Arizona, Board member on the Concho Elementary School board, built homes with Habitat for Humanity, maintained, repaired, and restored the 1903 hospital in Flagstaff Arizona, and was a member of the American Legion.

Dan has many adventurous hobbies.  He enjoys flying.  He earned his Private Pilot’s license and owned a Beechcraft Bonanza while going to school in Douglas Arizona to earn his Airframe and Powerplant license from Cochise College.  He enjoys Scuba diving and has earned his Advanced Open Water Divers certificate.

He is a widower and lives and works on restoring his Queen Anne home in Hannibal.
