The Hannibal Board of Public Works welcomed 11 girls to our facilities as a part of the Kids in Motion summer program on Friday, June 9th! Douglass Community Services’ Kids in Motion is an 8-week summer program designed to help local students value hard work, their futures, and their communities. The girls learned all about how we treat water, perform maintenance in our sewers, and restore power when an outage occurs. We enjoyed hosting them and hope they gained some valuable insights into how their local utility operates!

*Facilities Supervisor, Lance Kendrick, and Sewer Service Person, Bob Dillon, explain how the HBPW performs maintenance in our sewers.

*Ron Conger, WTP Senior Operator, explains how water is treated at the Water Treatment Plant.

*Jared Stewart, Electric Line Superintendent, discusses how power is restored when an outage occurs.
