May 3rd, 2021 – Hannibal, MO – The Hannibal Board of Public Works has partnered with Westrum Leak Detection, Inc. to perform water leak detection on the water distribution system.  Westrum will be testing throughout the day until dusk, weather permitting, either on foot or using a small motorcycle.

This type of detection allows HBPW to better identify leaks without the need of excavation to expose the pipes.  Specialized listening devices will be used on valves, hydrants, and meters throughout the city to precisely locate leaks, making them easier to repair.

This leak detection process will continue until the entire town has been inspected and will not affect water service to any customer.

For questions or comments regarding this inspection process, please contact the HBPW office at 573-221-8050.
