Recently there has been an increase in the number of email scam/phishing attempts targeting utility customers.  These emails prompt the user to "click here", which redirects to a site designed to capture username, passwords, credit card numbers, etc. and are designed to do nothing but take advantage of the recipient.

The HBPW encourages all customers to be aware of this type of activity and understand the HBPW does not send out this type of notification unless you the customer have given our business office your email address or have used our online bill payment website, SmartHub, to submit your email and subscribe to payment notifications.  The HBPW does not send or share any customers personal information with any outside entities or use email to solicit customers.
