The Hannibal Board of Public Works welcomed 6 boys to our facilities as a part of the Kids in Motion summer program on Monday, June 26th! Douglass Community Services’ Kids in Motion is an 8-week summer program designed to help local students value hard work, their futures, and their communities. The boys learned all about how we treat water, perform maintenance in our sewers, and restore power when an outage occurs. They even had the opportunity to tour our Wastewater Treatment Plant! We enjoyed hosting them and hope they gained some valuable insights into how their local utility operates!

*Three boys learn how the HBPW operates the sewer car so proper maintenance can be performed in our sewers.

*Facilities Supervisor, Lance Kendrick, gives the boys a tour of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

*Electric Line Superintendent, Jared Stewart, shows the boys the trucks linemen drive and describes the equipment they use.
